In the interest of evaluating new material technologies, innovative gear design, evaluating enhanced or updated products, and for the purpose of establishing a new specification; the San Antonio Fire Department (SAFD) Firefighting Personal Protective Equipment Committee will conduct field evaluations for the following items:
1)Firefighting bunker gear (coat and pant).
2)Bunker gear composite manufactures.
3)Bunker gear cut and sew manufactures.

Appropriate manufacturers are invited to present their information January 12-14th 2026 at the San Antonio Fire Department Training Academy, 300 South Callaghan, San Antonio, Texas 78227 to the SAFD PPE Committee and any other interested parties within the department. Products or goods may be sent ahead to the San Antonio Fire Department Training Academy care of Captain Dean Watson/ SAFD Firefighting PPE Committee. Presentations will begin at 9:00 am. Each manufacturer shall be allowed no more than 45 minutes to present. Presentation order will be selected randomly.
All Presentations will be conducted in person (no remote meetings). Please reply via e-mail if coming or sending a representative. The San Antonio Fire Department reserves the right to refuse acceptance or evaluation any product it finds not appropriate for its needs.
