Design of Zarzamora Street Mid-Block Crossing Safety Project


The City of San Antonio Transportation Department (hereafter referred to as “City”) is soliciting submittals for a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) seeking professional services of a qualified firm(s), or team of firms, to provide engineering design and construction phase support services for the Zarzamora Street Mid-block Crossings Safety Project (hereafter referred to as “Project”). The City was awarded $4.25 million in federal grant funding by the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) through the Safe Streets and Roads for All grant (SS4A) for the design and construction of eight (8) mid-block crossings and related pedestrian improvements. The design and construction of this project is tied to federally mandated timelines and reporting periods and will have hard deadlines to meet established project milestones. The contract duration will extend through project completion. The estimated completion of the project is no later than May 2028 with construction beginning no later than February 2027 and is not to exceed the contract value referenced above.
